Any coach can pull up a generic lesson template and run through it with every student. I don't do that. I believe no two students are the same, which means no two lessons should be the same. Every single lesson I teach is customized to fit your game: your specific strengths, your specific weaknesses, and your specific goals.
Before we even meet for our first session, I'm already doing my homework. I study your recent games on my own time to get an idea of your overall ability and identify recurring patterns, both good habits to reinforce and problem areas to address. Between lessons, I continue researching your play and preparing material tailored specifically to you.
I also tailor each student's homework to focus on the specific areas of your game that need the most attention. If we discover that your positional understanding needs work, that's what we focus on. If we need to build you an opening repertoire that fits your style, we do that. If your endgame technique is costing you half-points, we fix it. My goal is simple: make you the best chess player you can be.

I Study Your Games
Before our first lesson, I analyze your recent games on my own time. This helps me understand your playing style and identify the areas where you can improve the most.

We Work Together
We meet online using Chess.com or Lichess with Zoom for video and voice communication. Each lesson is approximately one hour and is fully interactive. I ask lots of questions to understand your thinking process.

You Keep Improving
After each lesson, I send you personalized homework. We track your progress and periodically re-evaluate your strengths and weaknesses as you grow.
